Just over one month ago, University of Memphis President M. David Rudd and Athletics Director Tom Bowen announced the University has secured donations and pledges which represented 60 percent of its goal for the Time to Shine Capital Campaign. The goal of $40 million dollars in private donations committed towards the renovation of the Billy J. Murphy Athletic Complex includes a new indoor practice facility, and a new basketball practice and training facility.
Athletics Director Tom Bowen and his wife Mia along with Bill Morris, and Shelby County legend, welcomed key supporters of the University of Memphis Athletics Department to the home of Tom and Mia to promote the Time to Shine Campaign.
Following a reception, a video presentation and talk by Tom Bowen, President M. David Rudd, and Bill Morris; over one million dollars was pledged to the Campaign that evening. With nearly 70% of the funding secured, the Time to Shine Capital Campaign will not only significantly enhance practice and training facilities for Memphis athletics, but also continues the investment to transform the Park Avenue Campus.
